The CookieMan is said to be around. He is known to steal cookies from families all around. This is a story about the SuperHeros who run the CookieMan out of town.
The little ladies are off to school
A day or two a week for now
Sickness is causing troubles still
But there are cookies to cure the many ills.
Some days school is a video call. The little ladies do not leave home at all.
Those days Mom serves up treats
Cookies fresh with healthy things inside
Served with milk for the ladies to imbibe
Eyes light up as they munch the sweets.
On Cookie Day they are home to stay
Watching the teacher teach away
But Mom is scratching her head today
Asking if the Cookies had run away
Ava and Lila are sad today
Because the Cookies went astray
But as they watch their teachers teach away
Mom bakes new cookies for the next day
Late at night Ava hears a sound
She nudges Lila’s curly head
There is no time to monkey around
They grab their SuperHero costumes under the bed.
The refrigerator door is swung wide open
As SuperHeros Ava and Lila fly into the room
There in the light of the refrigerator’s glare
They see the Cookie tray is bare
Waddling to the back door with tray in hand
Cookies flipping into the air
A chubby little fellow gave them a stare.
Saying slowly, I am the CookieMan.
Ava and Lila spin in the air
Shoot toward CookieMan and his stare
They grab CookieMan by his hands and feet
Fly him toward the stars
And take back the cookie treats
The next day there were Cookie treats
For Ava and Lila in their seats
Waiting for school to begin.
